Free Small Business Marketing Idea

When we start out with our online business the more free online marketing ideas we can apply to our marketing plan the better. I've put together some of the free online marketing ideas I use in my business.

Hubpages

Hubpages is one great way to get not only free marketing for your business but also add another income stream to your business. You can link to your business website which gives you a one way link which search engines love and you now have 2 ways that a potential client can find you.

As for the income stream, you can add your Google Adsense, Ebay and Amazon affiliate details to your profile and you get paid directly for any sales or clicks made from your hub. Pretty cool huh?

Squidoo

Has virtually the same setup as Hubpages but you can't add your Google Adsense details directly, you get paid a percentage of the the revenue depending on the traffic to your lenses. However, there are more ways you can make money online using Squidoo as they have lots more add-on modules to help you monetise your lenses as well as adding more content to them.

Social Networking

This is by far the best way to market your business online. My favourite social networking site has to be Facebook. You can update your status with a link to your website. You can add friends and tell them about your business. Write notes about what you are up to with your business all for free!

As with any online marketing ideas, it takes time to implement all your strategies but well worth the effort. With any social networking sites the best strategy is to add to your friends list and join any groups that related to your business and/or interests and start being active in the groups. DO NOT SPAM! You must be respectful when social networking or you will get banned and any online marketing you do will result in ZERO returns. Think about it, do you like being spammed or sold to? No, neither do I. Social networking is all about building relationships and a very valuable marketing idea.

Twitter

Twitter is blogging in 140 characters or less. It helps you build a relationship with your clients, friends, potential clients and joint venture partners in the quickest way possible. All you do is sign up, set up your profile and start "tweeting" or "twittering". Make sure your posts aren't just blatant sales pitches or people wont be happy following you, 1 click and they will have stopped following you and forgotten about you.

There are so many applications now that allow your twitter feed to flow into your other social networking sites to update your profile and keep it fresh that this MUST be part of your online marketing strategy.
